Circle of Light is a seasonal countdown that runs from December 21 to December 31, guiding families from the longest night of the year into the beginning of a new calendar cycle.

It is a journey through time and cultures — from ancient, nature-based traditions rooted in the winter solstice, through centuries of evolving rituals across different parts of the world, including religious interpretations that shaped them along the way.

Along this path, families will explore hands-on activities and crafts inspired by each historical period and tradition. Many of these practices have survived to this day — others became the roots of the winter traditions we recognize now.

This is both an educational and family-centered advent: a gentle way to learn history, culture, and meaning by making, observing, and creating together.

All crafts are designed with care for nature and simplicity in mind. The materials used are easily found at home or in the natural world — paper, light, natural fibers, recycled items, and everyday objects — encouraging creativity without excess.

Today, these traditions no longer belong to a single belief system. They have grown alongside humanity.

Circle of Light is about what remains constant through time: light, life, and the human values that connect us — care, hope, curiosity, and the joy of creating together as a family.
